I have some Saudi friends who are close to the royals and they said he was very savvy in business. Then again I don't think that's much of a testimony, coming from someone whose idea of business is to gain 50% of a company's net income in return for signing his "citizen" name on it while the "partner" (read foreign workaholic) does all the work.
On another hand, I think he was surrounded by an army of consultants so I'm not sure he really had much chance to "shine" even if he were of above-average IQ.
I am also aware that, while running Saudi Oger, he has excellent connections with Abdul Aziz Bin Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud. I'll leave the math to you guys.

to my knowledge he is a savvy business man and his father visioned him as the perfect "diplomat" whether in business or politics. Yet it is unfortunate to see that he is, or at least people think he is, running the country. no matter how qualified this guy could be...its just sad

Whether Saad is qualified or not is besides the point. It is simply undemocratic to inherit a country!!!

The results are dismal, who gets the blame is another story.
Saad and/or others, no one deserves laurels at this point.
