it's really pretty easy to understand.hezbollah has killed 500+ israeli civilians (depending on the sources), while israel has killed < 30. hezbollah has destroyed most of northern israel - people had to run for their lives and got bombed by hezbollah while driving away. hezbollah has shelled buildings and bridges all over israel, targeted red cross ambulances, various trucks, has created the seige of israel in which not enough fuel reaches the people and hospitals, and has directly caused over 700,000 displaced israeli civilians.
oh ... wait ... something seems wrong in the above.

This will no doubt fall on deaf ears. the truth is, Hizbollah wants to commit Genocide on the Israelis. The Israelis are responding to that threat, they are not targeting civilians. Israel wants to kill the armed militant agressors.
In the style of your own comment,minus the revesing everything around, this is the situation. Israel unilaterally pulled out of Lebanon several years ago. Hizbollah in the meantime has been sporadically shooting missiles at norther Israel.Hizbollah launced a raid two weeks ago, crossing the border into Israel raid and kidnapping three soldiers. Since then, Hizbollah has been attacking Israel's norther towns and cities with over a thousand katusha rockets, sending about 500,000 civilians fleeing south or going underground and living in bomb shelters. the civilian casualties are in the tens. People are under attack, buisnisses are at a halt, everyone is worried sick.
On the other side of the border in Lebanon, Israel has launched a full air and ground offensive to take out the Hizbollah. Hundreds of civilian casualties have been suffered, villages bombed, hundreds of thousands displaced. The israeli military does not target ambulences. Israel does not target children or civilians in general, Israel is trying to root out the Hizbollah militiamen, which is so mixed in with the civilian population (guerillas come from civlian populations.) The objective of this campaign is to incapacitate hizbollah's ability to pursue its policy of genocide ("wiping Israel off the map" means, among other things, killing Israeli babies Israel warned the civilians to go north on July 25, ample time for escape before the bombardment). In order carry out their objective they must destroy infurstructure and push hizbollah north of the litani river. The objective includes stopping the katusha attacks.
The lebanese Goverment and hizbollah have made it clear that they cannot live in peace on Israels norther border, so Israel must clobber them, and then bring in a force that can secure the border, if that is at all humanly possible.
Remember, this is war. Hizbollah cannot be negotiated with. And they will not be satisfied until the Israelis are pushed into the sea. Hizbollah fighters are sworn to fight to the death. God protect Israel's soldiers, may they be the strongest, bravest, holiest, and deadliest fighters the world has ever seen. Israel must use overwhelming force and bring the Hizbollah to its knees.
